Possible Causes
Blower speed set too high, Undersized duct system, Many registers closed, Return air path restricted
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power before adjusting blower speed taps.
- Open registers: Ensure most or all supply registers are open to reduce noise and static pressure.
- Check returns: Make sure return grilles are not blocked and filters are clean.
- Blower speed adjustment: On some Kelvinator furnaces, a technician can move the heating speed tap to a lower speed (following Kelvinator airflow tables) to reduce noise while maintaining safe temperature rise.
- Duct evaluation: If noise persists, duct resizing or additional returns may be needed.
