Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: Work on gas components only if you are qualified. Always isolate electrical power and close the gas shutoff valve before removing covers.
- Check gas shutoff and flex line: Confirm the manual gas shutoff to the Kospel furnace is fully open. Inspect the flexible gas connector for kinks or crushing.
- Observe ignition sequence: With the burner door in place, restore power and call for heat. Listen for the ignition spark or hot-surface igniter glow and the click of the gas valve. If there is no click, the valve may not be energized.
- Inspect burner and injectors: After shutting off gas and power, remove the burner assembly. Check the burner ports and gas injectors for rust, debris, or spider webs. Clean with a soft brush and compressed air (low pressure). Do not enlarge injector orifices.
- Check wiring to gas valve: Ensure the gas valve connector is fully seated and wires are not burnt or broken.
- Reset and test: Reassemble, restore gas and power, and reset the furnace according to the Kospel manual. If E02 persists, the gas valve or main control board may require replacement.
Note: Gas valve replacement and gas pressure adjustment must be performed by an authorized Kospel technician with proper test equipment.
