Possible Causes
Stuck valve body, failed actuator motor, misaligned valve spindle, wiring fault to actuator
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and allow pipes to cool before touching the valve.
- Locate the 3‑way valve: Typically near the Nibe unit, switching flow between heating circuit and hot water cylinder.
- Check actuator operation: Have someone change from heating to hot water while you listen for the actuator motor. If silent, check its power connector.
- Manual override: Many actuators have a manual lever. Move it gently to ensure the valve is not jammed.
- Remove actuator: With power off, remove the actuator and try turning the valve spindle by hand. If stiff, the valve body may need replacement.
Replace the actuator if the valve moves freely but the motor does not respond.
