Possible Causes
Excessive system pressure, failed expansion vessel, limescale on safety valve seat, overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Leaking water may be hot. Use caution and wear gloves.
- Check pressure: Read the system or cylinder pressure. If high, follow the high‑pressure guidance (see D4) to reduce it safely.
- Operate valve briefly: With system cool, lift the safety valve test lever for a second to flush debris, then release. This may help it reseat.
- Inspect discharge pipe: Ensure the discharge is safely routed to a drain and not blocked.
If leakage continues, the safety valve or expansion vessel must be replaced by a technician.
