Possible Causes

Dirty or misaligned flame sensor, Poor earth connection, Flame signal too weak due to low gas rate, Faulty ionisation circuit on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Gas and combustion components must be serviced by a qualified engineer. Do not attempt to adjust the gas valve yourself.

User checks:

  • Power-cycle and reset the furnace once. If E12 returns, call a technician.

Technician checks:

  • Clean the flame sensor (ionisation electrode) with fine abrasive paper and check its position in the flame.
  • Verify good earth continuity from the burner to the PCB.
  • Measure flame rectification current and compare with Ravenheat specifications.
  • Check gas rate and combustion quality; adjust gas valve if necessary.
