Possible Causes
Open-circuit room thermostat wiring, Faulty external control (e.g., programmer), Incorrect control wiring at terminal block, PCB input fault for thermostat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power before working on control wiring. Low-voltage circuits can still be damaged by shorts.
User checks:
- Ensure the room thermostat or programmer is set to call for heat and that its batteries (if wireless) are good.
- Check that any external timeclock is not set to OFF or holiday mode.
Technician checks:
- Bridge the room thermostat terminals at the furnace to simulate a call for heat; if the furnace runs, the external controls or wiring are faulty.
- Inspect thermostat cable for damage, especially at entry points.
- Verify correct wiring according to the Ravenheat wiring diagram.
- If wiring and controls are sound, test the PCB thermostat input and replace PCB if necessary.
