Possible Causes
Stuck or blocked flow switch, Air in system preventing flow, Faulty electronic flow sensor, Wiring fault between sensor and PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the system to cool. Some water spillage may occur when working on flow components.
- Bleed system: Remove air from radiators and high points in the system. Re-pressurise as needed.
- Check isolation valves: Ensure all valves around the furnace and pump are open.
- Inspect flow switch: On models with a mechanical flow switch, remove and check for debris or scale preventing movement. Clean or replace as necessary.
- Electronic sensor: For turbine or Hall-effect flow sensors, check the connector and cable for damage. Replace the sensor if faulty.
- PCB input: If a known-good sensor does not clear E17, the PCB input may be defective and should be tested by a technician.
