Possible Causes
Unstable fuel supply (air in line, low tank level), Incorrect combustion air settings, Dirty nozzle or filter, Weak ignition or marginal flame signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Shut off power and oil supply before opening the burner. Avoid repeated manual resets.
Steps:
- Bleed fuel system: Bleed the Riello pump to remove air. Check for leaks on suction line and at filter connections.
- Replace filters and nozzle: Install a new oil filter and Riello-specified nozzle. This often stabilizes flame quality.
- Clean burner components: Clean the combustion head, electrodes, and blast tube of soot.
- Check air settings: Verify that the air band and head settings match the Riello setup data for your furnace. Do not drastically change settings without combustion test equipment.
If A09 continues, a professional combustion analysis and burner tune-up is required.
