Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off electrical power to the Roca furnace at the breaker and close the gas shutoff valve before opening the cabinet. Wait for all hot surfaces to cool.
- Check gas supply: Verify the manual gas cock to the furnace is fully open. If other gas appliances are also not working, contact your gas supplier.
- Inspect ionization/ignition electrode: Remove the burner access panel. Locate the ignition/ionization electrode near the main burner. Check for cracks in the ceramic, damaged wiring, or heavy soot. Clean the metal tip gently with fine emery cloth and wipe with a dry cloth. Ensure the electrode gap and position match the Roca service manual.
- Clean burner assembly: Remove the burner rack if accessible. Vacuum dust and debris. Use a soft brush to clean burner ports. Do not enlarge ports. Reinstall correctly, ensuring proper seating.
- Check wiring to gas valve: Inspect the harness from the control board to the Roca gas valve for loose connectors, corrosion, or damaged insulation. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Reset and test: Restore power and gas. Reset the furnace (power cycle or reset button if equipped). Observe ignition: you should see sparking, gas flow, and stable flame. If E01 persists, the gas valve or control board may require professional testing and replacement.
Warning: Do not attempt to adjust internal gas valve settings or burner pressure without proper instruments and certification. Contact a qualified Roca service technician if unsure.
