Possible Causes
Clogged condensate trap, Blocked condensate drain line, Cracked condensate collector box, Loose drain hose connections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before working around water and electrical components.
Steps to check:
- Locate condensate trap: On condensing Ruud furnaces, find the plastic trap assembly near the inducer or side of the furnace.
- Clear trap and drain: Disconnect hoses and flush the trap with warm water until clear. Use a wet/dry vacuum on the drain line to remove clogs.
- Inspect hoses: Check all condensate hoses for cracks, kinks, or loose connections. Reattach securely.
- Check condensate pump (if present): Ensure the pump is plugged in and operating. Clean the pump reservoir and float.
