How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before working around water and electrical components.
- Step 1 – Locate leak source: Remove furnace panels and observe where water is originating (trap, hoses, collector box).
- Step 2 – Clean trap: Remove the condensate trap and flush it with warm water to clear debris. Reinstall securely.
- Step 3 – Inspect drain lines: Check vinyl or PVC drain tubing for kinks, sags, or cracks. Ensure proper slope to the drain. Replace damaged sections.
- Step 4 – Clear termination: Make sure the drain terminates into an open drain and is not submerged or blocked.
- Step 5 – Check collector box: If water appears to seep from the plastic collector box, it may be cracked and require replacement with a Tempstar OEM part.
