Possible Causes
Failed hot surface ignitor, Broken ignitor wiring harness, Faulty relay on Thermo Pride control board, Low line voltage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power before handling the ignitor. The ignitor is fragile and can break easily.
- Visual inspection: Remove burner access panel and locate the ignitor. Look for cracks or breaks in the ceramic or element.
- Continuity test: Disconnect the ignitor plug and test for continuity with a multimeter. An open circuit indicates a failed ignitor.
- Replace ignitor: Install a Thermo Pride-approved replacement ignitor, avoiding contact with the element. Use the original bracket and maintain the same position.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the board to the ignitor for burns or loose connections.
