Furnace flame is very small and tends to go out, even though fuel is feeding.

Safety first: Allow the furnace to cool before adjusting settings or inspecting the hopper.

Steps:

• 1. Increase feed rate: Raise the heat level or feed setting slightly and observe the flame.
• 2. Check for fuel bridging: Stir the fuel in the hopper and break up any crust or bridge that may prevent pellets/coal from dropping into the auger.
• 3. Reduce combustion air: If adjustable, slightly close the combustion air shutter to reduce excess air.
• 4. Inspect burn pot seals: Ensure the burn pot is seated correctly and any gaskets are intact to prevent unwanted air leaks.
