Possible Causes
Defective gas valve coil on Viadrus burner, Broken wiring between control board and gas valve, Faulty relay on control board, Gas valve manual shutoff left closed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off electrical power and close the gas cock. Only qualified gas technicians should work on gas valves.
- Check manual gas cock: Ensure the manual gas cock on the gas valve assembly is in the open position.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the cable from the control board to the gas valve. Look for loose spade connectors, damaged insulation, or signs of overheating. Repair or replace as needed.
- Coil resistance: With power off, disconnect the gas valve coil and measure its resistance. Compare to the value in the Viadrus burner documentation. Replace the gas valve if the coil is open or shorted.
- Control output: A technician can measure whether the control board sends voltage to the gas valve during ignition. If not, the board relay or driver circuit may be faulty and require board replacement.
