How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power before touching ignition components.
- Inspect ignition lead: Check the high-voltage lead from the PCB to the electrode for cracks, burn marks, or loose connections. Replace if damaged.
- Check electrode gap: With the combustion cover removed, verify that the ignition electrode gap and position match the service label. Adjust carefully if needed.
- Clean electrode: Remove carbon deposits from the electrode tip with fine abrasive pad.
- Reset and test: Restore power and attempt ignition. If code 28 persists, the PCB ignition circuit may require replacement by a technician.
