Possible Causes

Leaking heat exchanger, Loose pipe connection, Faulty pressure relief valve, Condensate leak (on condensing models)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power and, if leak is significant, close the system isolation valves. Beware of hot water.

  • Identify leak source: Remove the front panel and use a torch to locate where water is originating (heat exchanger, joints, valves, condensate trap).
  • Check pressure relief discharge: If water is dripping from the pressure relief valve pipe, system pressure may be too high or the valve may be faulty.
  • Condensate system: On condensing furnaces, ensure the condensate trap and drain hose are not blocked and are properly connected.
  • Do not operate with active leak: Continued operation can damage electronics. Call a qualified technician to repair or replace the leaking component.
