Possible Causes
Pressure switch stuck closed, Shorted pressure switch wiring, IFC misinterpreting pressure signal, Stuck inducer relay on IFC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before testing switches.
Steps:
- Locate the pressure switch and disconnect one wire; if the inducer stops after power is restored, the switch may be stuck closed.
- With power OFF, test continuity across the pressure switch with no call for heat; it should be open. If closed, replace the pressure switch.
- Inspect wiring for shorts between pressure switch terminals.
- If the inducer continues to run even with the switch disconnected, the IFC inducer relay may be stuck and the board will likely need replacement.
