How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Delayed ignition can be hazardous. If bangs are severe, shut off gas and call a professional.
Steps (for mild booming only):
- Turn off power and gas.
- Remove the burner access panel and carefully remove the burner assembly following the Westinghouse service manual.
- Clean burner ports and crossover channels with a soft brush and compressed air; do not enlarge the ports.
- Inspect the hot surface ignitor position; ensure it is properly aligned with the burner as specified by the manufacturer.
- Reassemble, restore gas and power, and test. If booming continues, have a technician check gas pressure and combustion.
