Possible Causes
Unbalanced or dirty blower wheel, Loose blower mounting bolts, Inducer wheel out of balance, Flexible gas line or vent pipe contacting cabinet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before touching moving parts.
Steps:
- Inspect the blower wheel for dust buildup or bent fins; clean and straighten minor bends if accessible.
- Check that the blower housing and motor mounting bolts are tight.
- Ensure that the flexible gas connector and PVC vent pipes are not touching the furnace cabinet or each other in a way that transmits vibration; reposition and secure as needed.
- If the inducer is the source of vibration (noise increases at startup), the inducer assembly may need replacement.
