Possible Causes
Stuck relay on Wolf control board, Thermostat heat contacts stuck closed, Shorted thermostat wiring between R and W, Fan relay stuck causing continuous blower
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power if the furnace will not shut down normally.
- Thermostat test: Remove the thermostat from its base. If the furnace shuts off, the thermostat may be faulty and should be replaced.
- Wiring check: At the furnace, disconnect the W wire from the Wolf control board. If the furnace stops calling for heat, there may be a short in the thermostat cable.
- Control board relays: If the blower or burners continue to run even with thermostat wires removed, the control board relays are likely stuck and the Wolf control board must be replaced.
