How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power. Fan and flue components are part of the combustion circuit and must only be serviced by qualified engineers.
Homeowner checks:
- Check that the flue terminal is not obstructed.
- Reset the boiler once and listen for the fan starting. If it does not run or is very noisy, stop and call an engineer.
Engineer checks:
- Measure supply voltage to the fan and verify correct polarity.
- Check the fan speed feedback (Hall sensor) signal at the PCB.
- Inspect the fan for mechanical obstruction or bearing failure; replace the Worcester fan assembly if defective.
- If fan and wiring are sound, test/replace the control PCB.
