Possible Causes
Clogged condensate trap, Disconnected condensate drain hose, Cracked condensate collector box, Improper drain slope
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before working around water and electrical components.
- Locate condensate system: On condensing York furnaces, find the plastic condensate trap and drain hoses near the inducer and bottom of the heat exchanger.
- Clear trap: Remove the trap and flush it with warm water until all debris is gone. Reinstall with correct orientation.
- Check hoses: Ensure all hoses are firmly connected and not cracked. Replace any brittle tubing with proper condensate tubing.
- Verify slope: The drain line should slope continuously downward to the floor drain or condensate pump. Adjust supports as needed.
- Test for leaks: Run the furnace and observe for drips. If water appears from the collector box or heat exchanger area, call a technician.
