Possible Causes
Loose opener mounting brackets, unbalanced door, worn rollers, misaligned tracks
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Excessive vibration can loosen structural fasteners. Inspect mounting points carefully.
- Step 1 – Check opener mounting: Inspect the B&D opener brackets at the ceiling and header. Tighten all lag screws into solid framing, not just plasterboard.
- Step 2 – Inspect door balance and rollers: Disconnect the opener and move the door by hand. If it jerks or binds, have a technician adjust springs and replace worn rollers.
- Step 3 – Align tracks: Ensure vertical and horizontal tracks are plumb and level. Adjust brackets to remove twists that cause vibration.
- Step 4 – Add vibration isolation: If needed, install rubber isolation pads between the opener brackets and the ceiling joists.
