Possible Causes
Loose internal harness between motor and control board, damaged sensor cable, failing control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal wiring.
- Step 1 – Inspect internal harnesses: Remove the opener cover and check all plug‑in connectors between the motor, encoder, and control board. Reseat each connector firmly.
- Step 2 – Look for damage: Check cables for chafing against sharp metal edges or moving parts. Replace any damaged harnesses.
- Step 3 – Test operation: Restore power and run the door through several cycles. If F3 recurs, note whether it happens at the same position, which may indicate a cable flex point issue.
- Step 4 – Replace board or harness: If reseating and replacing harnesses does not resolve F3, the control board’s communication circuitry may be faulty and require replacement.
