Possible Causes
Failed low-voltage regulator on BFT control board, Short circuit on 24V accessory output, Faulty backup battery pack drawing excessive current, Incorrect wiring of external accessories to 24V terminals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains power and wait for capacitors to discharge before touching the control board.
- Disconnect accessories: Remove all wires from the 24V accessory terminals (e.g., photocells, keypads, receivers) on the BFT control board. Power the unit and see if E03 clears. If it does, one of the accessories is shorted.
- Check backup battery: If your BFT opener has a battery backup module, disconnect it and power the unit from mains only. A shorted or aged battery can drag down the low-voltage supply.
- Measure 24V output: With a multimeter, measure the 24V DC or AC output at the board. If it is significantly below spec with no load, the regulator or transformer section is faulty.
- Inspect for shorts: Look for any stray wire strands bridging terminals, especially around 24V and COM. Correct any wiring issues and re-terminate cleanly.
If the 24V supply remains low with all accessories disconnected, the control board will need replacement.
