Possible Causes
Aged or sulfated backup battery pack, Disconnected battery harness, Failed battery charger circuit on BFT control board, Incorrect battery type installed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains power before handling the battery pack.
- Locate battery module: Open the operator cover and find the BFT backup battery pack and its connector to the control board.
- Check connections: Ensure the battery plug is fully seated and wires are not damaged.
- Measure battery voltage: With a multimeter, measure the battery pack voltage. If it is significantly below the rated value (e.g., < 11 V for a 12 V pack), the battery is likely bad.
- Replace battery: Install a new, BFT-approved battery pack of the same voltage and capacity. Observe polarity.
- Check charger output: With mains power on and a good battery connected, verify that the control board provides a charging voltage slightly above nominal battery voltage. If not, the charger circuit on the board may be faulty.
