Garage door will not move, control board display shows E1 immediately after power‑up
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power to the CAME operator at the breaker before opening the control box. High voltage is present inside.
Steps:
- Check incoming power: Verify the wall outlet or dedicated circuit has 230 V (or 120 V in some regions) using a multimeter. Reset any tripped breaker.
- Inspect the control unit fuse: Open the CAME control panel (e.g. ZLJ24, ZL180, ZL92, ZL65). Locate the mains fuse (usually F1). Remove and test with a multimeter for continuity. Replace only with the same rating and type if blown.
- Check transformer output: With power restored and extreme caution, measure the transformer secondary (e.g. 24 V AC). If there is no low‑voltage output, the transformer is likely faulty and must be replaced.
- Inspect terminals: With power off again, tighten L/N input screws and low‑voltage output terminals. Look for burn marks or melted plastic indicating overheating.
- If fuse blows again immediately: Disconnect the transformer secondary from the board and power up. If the fuse still blows, the control board is shorted. If it does not, the transformer or low‑voltage circuit is shorted.
Do not bypass fuses or work on live circuits if you are not trained. If you suspect a burned PCB track or damaged transformer, contact a qualified technician.
