Possible Causes
Activated or faulty CAME sensitive edge (mechanical or resistive), Obstruction in door path, Incorrect configuration of safety input on control board, Broken cable to safety edge transmitter
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep people and vehicles clear of the door. Disconnect power before working on wiring.
Steps:
- Inspect the travel path: Remove any objects, ice, or debris from the floor, tracks, and under the door that could trigger obstacle detection.
- Check safety edge: If a CAME sensitive edge (e.g. mechanical edge with NC contact or 8k2 resistive edge) is installed, inspect for visible damage or deformation.
- Test edge function: Bypass the safety edge input at the control board according to the CAME wiring diagram (bridge the correct terminals). Power up and test. If E4 disappears, the edge or its transmitter is faulty.
- Verify configuration: On the control board, confirm that the safety input (e.g. "EDGE", "8k2") is configured correctly via DIP switches or menu settings for the type of edge installed.
- Check cabling: Inspect spiral cable or radio edge transmitter wiring for breaks, especially near moving hinges.
Do not leave the safety edge bypassed in normal use. Replace a damaged edge with a compatible CAME safety edge.
