Possible Causes
Defective wall control, Faulty logic board radio section, Damaged wall control cable, Interference or misprogrammed remotes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before opening the opener housing or changing wiring. Use only Chamberlain-compatible accessories.
Steps to fix:
- Verify remote programming: Press the LEARN button on the opener and reprogram a Chamberlain remote according to the manual. Test operation.
- Bypass wall control: Temporarily disconnect the wall control wires at the opener. Use a jumper wire to briefly short the wall control terminals. If the opener runs, the wall control or its wiring is suspect.
- Replace wall control (if needed): Install a new Chamberlain wall control compatible with your model and connect to the existing wiring. If operation is restored, the old control was faulty.
- Check for radio interference: Remove LED bulbs or other devices near the opener that may cause RF interference. Try operating the remote closer to the opener.
- Replace logic board: If remotes cannot be programmed or only wall control works despite good wiring and controls, the logic board’s radio or control circuit may be defective and require replacement.
