Possible Causes
Tripped circuit breaker or GFCI, Faulty outlet, Damaged power cord, Failed internal transformer or power supply on logic board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use a non-contact voltage tester if available. Do not open the opener if you are not comfortable working around mains voltage.
- Check power source: Plug a lamp or tester into the same outlet as the opener to confirm power. Reset any tripped GFCI or breaker feeding the outlet.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, crushed sections, or burn marks on the opener's cord. Replace the opener or cord if damaged.
- Test wall switch: If the opener is hardwired (rare on Craftsman), verify the wall switch and wiring are intact and delivering power.
- Internal fuse: Some models have an internal fuse on the logic board. With power disconnected, remove the cover and inspect/replace the fuse with the same rating if blown.
- Power supply failure: If the outlet is good and the fuse is intact but there is still no LED or response, the internal transformer or power supply circuit has likely failed. Replace the logic board or entire opener head.
