Possible Causes
Down travel set too far, Door hitting raised floor or object, Warped door bottom, Loose door arm connection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep clear of the door while adjusting travel settings.
- Inspect floor and door bottom: Look for raised concrete, thick weatherstripping, or a warped door bottom panel that could cause extra resistance at the end of travel.
- Adjust down travel: Reduce the DOWN travel on the Craftsman opener so the door stops just as it contacts the floor without pushing hard.
- Check door arm: Ensure the curved door arm is securely fastened to the door bracket and the trolley. Tighten any loose bolts.
- Test reversal: After adjustment, close the door and verify it stays closed. Then perform the 2x4 reversal test to ensure safety features still function.
