Possible Causes
Lock function enabled on wall console, Defective wall control button, Broken wall control wiring, Logic board input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the door area is clear before testing operation after changes.
- Check lock button: Many Craftsman wall consoles have a LOCK or VACATION button. If the LED is blinking or a lock icon is lit, press and hold the lock button for 2–5 seconds to disable it.
- Test from wall and remote: Try operating the door from both the wall control and a remote. If only the wall control fails, the console or its wiring is suspect.
- Bypass wall control: Disconnect the wall control wires at the opener and momentarily short the wall control terminals with a jumper wire. If the opener runs, replace the wall control or repair its wiring.
- Check wiring continuity: Use a multimeter to verify continuity of the wall control cable. Replace if open or intermittent.
- Logic board input: If neither wall control nor jumper activates the opener but lights still work, the logic board's input circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
