• Check sensor LEDs: Verify that both Craftsman safety sensors have solid LEDs when the door is closing. A blinking or off LED indicates a problem.
• Realign sensors: Loosen the wing nuts and adjust the sensors until both LEDs are solid. Tighten the nuts while holding alignment.
• Inspect brackets: Replace any bent or broken sensor brackets that prevent proper alignment.
• Shield from sunlight: If direct sunlight hits the receiving sensor, install a small shade or move the sensor slightly back on the bracket to reduce glare.
• Replace faulty sensor: If one sensor LED will not light despite good wiring and alignment, replace the sensor pair with a Craftsman-compatible kit.
