Safety first: Keep people and pets clear of the door while adjusting travel and force. Never increase force to the point where the door will not reverse on contact.

• Inspect closing path: Check for objects on the floor, raised weatherstripping, or uneven concrete that could cause the door to hit and reverse.
• Adjust down travel: On the Craftsman opener head, locate the DOWN travel adjustment screw or digital control. Turn it slightly to reduce the travel so the door stops just as it contacts the floor.
• Adjust down force: If the door still reverses before fully closing, slightly increase the DOWN FORCE setting in small increments. Test after each adjustment.
• Test safety reversal: Place a 2x4 board flat under the door and close it. The door must reverse within 2 seconds of contact. If not, reduce force and re-test.
