Possible Causes
Control board relay contacts welded closed, Motor rotor jammed, Shorted motor windings, Faulty limit switch not signaling stop
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately unplug the opener to prevent overheating or fire. Do not leave it humming.
Inspect door and rail:
- Ensure the door and trolley are not jammed or locked.
Check motor and board:
- With the cover removed (and power disconnected), inspect the control board for burned or discolored areas.
- If the motor shaft cannot be turned by hand, the motor is seized and must be replaced.
- If the motor turns freely but hums continuously when powered, the control board relay is likely stuck and the board should be replaced.
