Possible Causes
Shorted wall control wiring, Stuck wall button, Neighbor’s remote on same code (older fixed-code models), Stuck remote button in vehicle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Until resolved, unplug the opener when you are away to prevent unintended opening.
Check wall control:
- Inspect the wall button for sticking or physical damage.
- Disconnect the wall control wires at the opener head and monitor if phantom operation stops. If it does, repair or replace the wall control or its wiring.
Check remotes:
- Remove batteries from all remotes and keypads temporarily. If phantom operation stops, one of the remotes has a stuck button and should be replaced.
Reprogram opener (if older fixed-code):
- Clear all remote codes from the Decko opener (often by holding the LEARN button until the LED blinks or goes out).
- Reprogram only your own remotes and keypad.
