Possible Causes
Down force set too low, Door out of balance, Track misalignment causing binding, Damaged rollers or hinges
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not increase force to compensate for a door that is hard to move by hand. Fix mechanical issues first.
Check door balance:
- Disconnect the opener using the emergency release.
- Lift the door halfway and release. If it falls or rises quickly, springs need professional adjustment.
Inspect and correct binding:
- Check tracks for bends or misalignment. Loosen mounting brackets slightly, tap tracks into alignment, and retighten.
- Replace cracked or seized rollers.
Adjust down force:
- Locate the DOWN force adjustment on the Decko opener.
- Increase slightly (1/8–1/4 turn) and test closing. Repeat until the door closes reliably but still reverses when it hits a 2x4 board on the floor.
