Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate mains power. Ensure the door is balanced and can be moved by hand before running any automatic cycles.
- Check mechanical travel: Pull the manual release and move the door fully open and closed by hand. If it binds or jams, correct track or spring issues before adjusting limits.
- Verify limit settings: Restore power, re‑engage the carriage, and follow the Garador manual to reprogram open and close limits. Typically this involves pressing and holding the 'SET' or 'P' button until the display flashes, then running the door to the desired open and close positions.
- Inspect limit/encoder wiring: With power off, remove the operator cover and check the plug from the limit switch or encoder module to the main control board. Reseat the connector and ensure no pins are bent or corroded.
- Check encoder magnet or cam: On some Garador belt/chain drives, a magnet ring or cam on the sprocket passes a sensor. Confirm it is not cracked, loose, or missing. Tighten or replace if damaged.
- Test operation: Restore power and run a full open/close cycle. If E2 reappears at the same position, the limit switch assembly or encoder is likely defective and should be replaced.
Note: Incorrect limit settings can cause the door to over‑travel and damage the door or operator. Make small adjustments and test carefully.
