Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the isolator and verify with a tester. Only persons competent with mains wiring should open the operator housing.
- Check external supply: Confirm the garage socket or spur has power by plugging in another appliance. Reset any tripped MCB or RCD.
- Inspect mains terminals: Remove the Garador cover and check that live, neutral, and earth are securely clamped in the terminal block. Tighten any loose screws.
- Check fuses: Locate the low‑voltage and mains fuses on the control board. Remove and test with a continuity meter. Replace only with the same type and rating as specified by Garador.
- Examine transformer/SMPS: Look for burn marks, bulging capacitors, or a burnt smell around the power supply section. If present, the board or power module must be replaced.
- Measure low‑voltage output (advanced): With power restored and extreme caution, measure the DC output to the logic board (often 24 V DC). If absent or unstable, replace the power supply or complete control board.
Note: If you are not trained to work on mains circuits, do not attempt internal repairs. Contact a Garador technician.
