Possible Causes
Corrupted firmware, Surge‑damaged microcontroller, Shorted low‑voltage accessory circuit, Damaged memory or EEPROM
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before handling the control board.
- Power cycle: Leave the operator completely unpowered for at least 2 minutes, then reconnect. Sometimes the logic will reset and clear E6.
- Disconnect accessories: Remove all low‑voltage accessory connections (key switch, external receiver, wired wall button, photocells) from the control board. Restore power and see if E6 clears. If it does, reconnect accessories one at a time to identify the faulty device or cable.
- Factory reset: Follow the Garador manual to perform a factory reset of the control unit (often holding the 'P' or 'SET' button for a specified time). Reprogram limits and remotes afterward.
- Inspect board: Look for obvious burn marks, cracked components, or corrosion. If present, the board must be replaced.
If E6 remains: The control logic is defective. Replace the complete Garador control board with the exact model specified for your operator.
