Possible Causes
Knocked-out-of-alignment sensors, Loose mounting brackets, Broken sensor wires at terminal, Failed sensor electronics
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not bypass sensors. They are required for safe operation and code compliance.
Steps:
- Check LEDs: Confirm the sender LED (amber) is on and the receiver LED (green) is solid when aligned. If either is off, troubleshoot wiring or replace sensors.
- Realign: Gently bend or adjust brackets until the green LED is solid. Tighten wing nuts while holding alignment.
- Secure wiring: Ensure wires are firmly attached at the opener terminals and not broken at the sensor backs.
- Replace sensors: If alignment and wiring are good but LEDs will not stay lit, install a new Genie Safe-T-Beam sensor kit.
