Door reverses immediately when trying to close; opener lights flash; safety sensor LEDs are off or flickering.

Safety first: Do not bypass sensors. They are required for safe operation and code compliance.

Steps:

• Check LEDs: Confirm the sender LED (amber) is on and the receiver LED (green) is solid when aligned. If either is off, troubleshoot wiring or replace sensors.
• Realign: Gently bend or adjust brackets until the green LED is solid. Tighten wing nuts while holding alignment.
• Secure wiring: Ensure wires are firmly attached at the opener terminals and not broken at the sensor backs.
• Replace sensors: If alignment and wiring are good but LEDs will not stay lit, install a new Genie Safe-T-Beam sensor kit.
