Opener stops before reaching full open; red STATUS LED flashes 12 times; door may open only halfway.

Safety first: Do not force the door beyond its physical stops. Verify the door hardware is in good condition.

Steps:

• Check for obstructions: Look at the top of the door travel for stops, brackets, or the opener rail contacting the door.
• Test door balance: Disconnect the opener and lift the door fully by hand. If it is heavy or will not stay open, have the springs serviced.
• Adjust open limit: Increase the OPEN LIMIT setting so the door travels fully open without hitting the opener or track stops.
• Reprogram travel: If electronic, reset and reprogram the open position following the Genie manual.
