Possible Causes
Seized rail carriage, Bent rail, Dry or rusted door rollers, Excessive door weight beyond opener rating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: A binding door can be dangerous. Do not continue to run the opener against a jam. Disconnect power before mechanical inspection.
Steps:
- Disconnect door: Pull the emergency release and move the door by hand. If it binds or is very heavy, call a garage door technician to correct springs and hardware.
- Inspect rail and carriage: Look for bends in the rail or a cracked carriage. Lubricate the rail (for chain/belt) or screw (for screw drive) with Genie-approved lubricant.
- Check for obstructions: Ensure nothing is caught in the door tracks or between sections.
- Retest opener: With the door disconnected, run the opener alone. If it still stalls and F14 appears, the motor or gear train may be failing and require replacement.
