Steps:

• Disconnect accessories: Remove all low-voltage wires from the terminal strip (wall console, key switch, external receiver). Restore power and test the opener using a programmed remote.
• Isolate the fault: If the opener now works normally, reconnect one accessory at a time, testing after each. When the problem returns, the last connected device or cable is faulty.
• Inspect wall console: Remove the wall console from the wall and check for moisture, corrosion, or crushed cable. Replace the Genie wall console if damaged.
• Check cable routing: Ensure low-voltage cables are not stapled too tightly or run alongside high-voltage lines, which can induce interference.
• Permanent fix: Replace any damaged cable with new 2-conductor bell wire and reinstall accessories correctly.
