Possible Causes

Failed RF receiver module on control board, Corrupted remote memory, Stuck learn button, Interference from nearby RF devices

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not stand under the door while testing remotes. Keep remotes away from children.

Steps:

  • Clear remote memory: Press and hold the LEARN button until the LED blinks or turns off (per your model). This erases all remotes and keypads.
  • Reprogram one remote: Press and release LEARN, then press the remote button until the opener clicks or the light flashes. If the blue LED does not respond at all, suspect the board.
  • Check learn button: Ensure the LEARN button is not physically stuck or damaged. Gently press and release several times.
  • Reduce interference: Temporarily unplug nearby Wi-Fi routers, LED shop lights, or other RF devices and retry programming.
  • Replace control board: If the LEARN LED never responds and no new remotes can be added, replace the Genie control board with integrated receiver.
