Possible Causes

Broken wall button wiring, Shorted wall switch, Faulty Gliderol wall console, Damaged low-voltage input on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power before working on wiring. Use only low-voltage cable for wall controls.

Steps to restore wall control:

  • 1. Inspect wall button: Remove the wall switch or Gliderol wall console from the wall. Check for loose terminals, corrosion, or broken wires. Tighten screws and re-strip/re-terminate if needed.
  • 2. Test cable continuity: With power off, disconnect the two wall control wires at the opener. Temporarily short the two wall control terminals with a small insulated jumper. Restore power and see if the door operates. If it does, the wiring or wall switch is faulty.
  • 3. Replace wall switch: If shorting at the opener works but the wall button does not, replace the wall button or Gliderol wall console.
  • 4. Check for shorts: Inspect the cable run for staples through the insulation or crushed sections that could short the wires together.

If the opener does not respond even when you short the wall control terminals directly, the control board’s input circuit is likely damaged and the board will need replacement.
