Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working near the door hardware. Do not loosen torsion springs or lifting cables.
Steps to clear obstruction/force fault:
- 1. Inspect the travel path: Check the full length of the door tracks and curtain guides for tools, locks, padbolts, cobweb build‑up, or debris. Remove any obstruction.
- 2. Check door balance: With the opener disengaged (use the Gliderol manual release cord), lift the door by hand to halfway. It should stay roughly in place. If it slams shut or is very heavy, the springs are out of balance and a professional must adjust them.
- 3. Inspect tracks and guides: Look for bent sections of track, crushed roller guides, or misaligned brackets. Gently straighten minor bends with adjustable pliers; replace badly damaged sections.
- 4. Lubricate moving parts: Apply a silicone-based spray to door rollers, hinges, and the Gliderol drive rail (if chain or screw drive). Avoid getting lubricant on the door curtain or belt.
- 5. Adjust force settings: On the Gliderol control board, locate the UP FORCE and DOWN FORCE potentiometers or menu settings. Increase slightly (about 10–15%) and test. Do not set force excessively high; the door must reverse when it hits a solid object.
If the error persists with a freely moving, balanced door, the motor current sensor on the control board may be faulty and the board may need replacement.
