Possible Causes
Down force set too low, Uneven garage floor, Loose door arm or bracket, Travel limits slightly mis-set
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep clear of the moving door while adjusting force and limits. Do not over-increase force; it must still reverse on obstruction.
- Check door hardware: Inspect the door arm connection to the top section and the header bracket on the wall. Tighten any loose bolts.
- Adjust down travel: Reduce the down travel slightly so the door does not push hard into a high spot on the floor.
- Increase down force slightly: Using the Guardian force adjustment, increase the down force one small step at a time, testing after each adjustment. The door should close firmly but still reverse when it hits a 2x4 laid flat on the floor.
- Shim the floor if needed: If the floor is significantly uneven, consider adding a flexible bottom seal or threshold to provide a more even contact surface.
