Possible Causes
Defective safety sensor, Reversed sensor wiring, Sunlight interference on sensor, Loose sensor bracket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not permanently bypass safety sensors. They prevent serious injury.
- Check sensor LEDs: Confirm both Guardian safety sensors have solid LEDs when the door is open. If one is off or flickering, alignment or wiring is faulty.
- Realign sensors: Adjust the sensor brackets until both LEDs are solid. Tighten brackets securely.
- Inspect wiring: Verify correct polarity at the opener terminals and at each sensor. Repair any damaged cable.
- Shield from sunlight: If direct sun hits a sensor, add a small shade or reposition slightly while maintaining alignment.
- Replace sensors: If alignment and wiring are correct but one LED will not light, replace the Guardian safety sensor pair.
