Possible Causes
Broken wall control wire, Defective Guardian wall console, Loose terminal screws at opener, Paint or damage at wall button
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working on low-voltage wiring.
- Check wall console: Remove the wall control and inspect the back for broken terminals or corrosion.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the low-voltage cable from the wall to the opener. Look for staples through the wire or cuts.
- Test at opener: At the opener, short the wall control terminals briefly with a small jumper wire. If the door moves, the wiring or wall console is faulty.
- Replace wall console and/or wire: Install a new Guardian wall control and run new cable if the old one is damaged.
